A Kansas District Court Judge has dismissed a wrongful death case involving a major railway company. The lawsuit, filed in 2025, alleged negligence, wrongful death, negligent hiring, training, and supervision in connection with a fatal accident. The accident took place in Lawrence, Kansas and was a result of a pedestrian trespasser being impacted by a railway car.
The Court ruled in favor of the Defendants, finding that the railway company had not breached any duty under Kansas law. The attorneys involved representing the railway company in the matter were Sean Hamer and Alex McKenna, with paralegal Karen Frisbie.
